It's late, and you're doing what you always do
You're awake, and the voices are talking to you
There's a bed, a perfectly good bed for sleeping in
Your over tired brain hears, but is not listening
So pour another drink as if to drown the night
Sure, it might work if you try hard this time
Sleep, sleep perchance to dream a dream of her
Drink helps you forget to dream and dreams turn to a blur
I'll meet my demons in the night, we've got unfinished business
I never win, but always fight, if this isn't hell what is this?
It's five AM, the sun will be up soon
There's only so many things at night to do
And you will make believe you slept just fine
And spend the next day wondering maybe this time
The TV endlessly repeats itself
If you thought daytime telly's bad, this is tele-visual hell
I'll take the drugs, I'll take the exercise
There isn't much to take that I haven't tried
I'll meet my demons in the night, we've got unfinished business
I never win, but always fight, if this isn't hell what is this?
I'll meet my demons in the night, we've got unfinished business
I never win, but always fight, if this isn't hell what is this?

Beautifully played and full of moving vocal performances, the Bay Area singer/songwriter's latest is a stellar work of art. Bandcamp Album of the Day Feb 3, 2023
I love all the songs on this album. They hit you in the feels every one of them in different ways. Break the Bottle is close to home and gets me big time. If you can't listen to 'If Home is Where the Heart is' and sing along at the top of voice with joy in your heart, you are dead inside. Lisa Black
