I'm not a man of means, I'm just the man who means the best for you
I'm not a man of words, the few I have will always be the truth
I'm not a man of mighty actions, just a man who acts the fool
I'm not a fighting kind of person, but I'll always fight for you
And I'm a man who's quick to anger, and a man who's fast to judge
And a man who's quick to hang an awful lot of hope on love
I'm pretty sluggish on the up-take, not too fast to cotton on
I like to pretend that my heart-ache is the reason for my songs
But I'm trying hard to make you see
That I'd fall apart if you leave me
I know I'm not exactly perfect, but I'll always do my best
To make you see that this is worth it, and you're not settling for less
No I'll never have much money, just enough to get us by
And I know poverty's not funny, but I just can't do nine to five
But I'm trying hard to make you see
That I'd fall apart if you leave me
I know I didn't need to tell you about the kind of man I am
And I didn't to sell you promises of future plans
For some crazy kind of reason you tell me that you're in love
And I'm a man you can believe in, and that will always be enough
But I'm trying hard to make you see
That I'd fall apart if you leave me
If you leave me
So don't leave me
West Virginia country-folk singer-songwriter Trae Sheehan aims to find a balance between the traditional and the modern on his new LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 29, 2020
Beautifully played and full of moving vocal performances, the Bay Area singer/songwriter's latest is a stellar work of art. Bandcamp Album of the Day Feb 3, 2023
I love all the songs on this album. They hit you in the feels every one of them in different ways. Break the Bottle is close to home and gets me big time. If you can't listen to 'If Home is Where the Heart is' and sing along at the top of voice with joy in your heart, you are dead inside. Lisa Black
