Cast your ballot to the left or to the right, it's never mattered
Politicians always win, be it the former, or the latter
And they lay their heads on feathered beds
While the country lies in tatters
And it amazes me you still believe that your two party system
Is democracy in action, coz it's feakishly consistent
When they sell their policies for cash to suit the current climate
And red turns slowly bluer, with no real attempt to hide it
Cast your ballot to the left or to the right, it's never mattered
Politicians always win, be it the former, or the latter
And they lay their heads on feathered beds
While the country lies in tatters
They plaster plastic smiles across their faces to promote
Another cynical attempt to sway opinion of the voter
Hypnotise the populous with propaganda on the hour
And we labour under false pretense of having any real power
Cast your ballot to the left or to the right, it's never mattered
Politicians always win, be it the former, or the latter
And they lay their heads on feathered beds
While the country lies in tatters
And I've never really understood the rules
Exactly what is it that I'm supposed to choose
I've never really understood the game
Coz they're all a bunch of lying wankers, and every lie's the same
Every lie's the same
And I know that lot's of people suffered, lot's of people dies
So we could live in so called freedom, yeah, and we could have the right
To vote for men and women in whom our country lays it's trust
But doesn't the expenses scandal prove that they are all just laughing at us?
Cast your ballot to the left or to the right, it's never mattered
Coz the bastards always win, be it the former, or the latter
And they lay their heads on feathered beds
While the country lies in tatters
And no-one seems to think that matters

I love all the songs on this album. They hit you in the feels every one of them in different ways. Break the Bottle is close to home and gets me big time. If you can't listen to 'If Home is Where the Heart is' and sing along at the top of voice with joy in your heart, you are dead inside. Lisa Black
